Sample Police Interview Questions - 3 Panel Interview Questions You Must Know About

Did you know that there several scenario base questions that you'll be asked during the police officer oral interview? Did you know that the failure rate based on the oral interview is very high? Just because most people do not make it through this very intensive interview, doesn't mean you have to suffer the same fate.
When you decided that you wanted to become a police many years ago, you couldn't wait to get that badge on, but first you must pass a series of mental and physical exams. The oral interview is a huge hurdle to get past, but, if you are familiar and ready for these three sample questions, you will do great.
The three questions are:
  • Tell us what you know about our agency, starting with the number of officers on our department?
  • Tell us a time in your life where you displayed an ability to lead others?
  • What are your greatest weakness/strengths?
These questions measure your reasoning and judgment capabilities. It is important to learn everything you can about the department that you want to join. It is crucial to show that you are a leader. Everyone who is on the police force is a leader in their own way, and because you are sent out to protect and serve, you also need to lead. It is vital that you can be honest about your strengths and weaknesses and can discuss them both in equal parts. Everyone has weaknesses, and you need to let the panel know that you are aware of yours, what they are and how you overcome them on a daily basis.

The oral interview is the place where the panel weeds out those that are not cut out to be officers. This is why this part of the process is so important. This is when the panel gets to see not your physical stamina or your mental stamina, but your personality. They will get to see if you are a good fit for the departments that you are want to be a part of and if you are a good fit for the force.
Put your best foot forward and practice and you should do fine. Also, remember those three questions, they will definitely be asked on the oral interview.
